The HEIONTEC team: The people behind the energy innovation
The development of a completely new energy source can only succeed through the collaboration of bright minds from the fields of science, technology, and entrepreneurship. At HEIONTEC, people work together who share a common vision: to make ambient heat accessible as a reliable, sustainable, and self-sufficient source of electricity.
Our patent-pending TEC-G cells are designed to provide energy exactly where batteries, cabling, or conventional sources are currently needed. Behind this technology is an interdisciplinary team that drives research, development, and implementation with great technical depth.
The founders – experience, depth, and creative power
Andreas Heine – Founder & CEO
He is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, establishing industrial and scientific partnerships, and developing the ecosystem that will successfully bring HEIONTEC technology to market.
Waldemar Lewtschenko – Founder & Head of Research
As the inventor of the TEC-G cell, Waldemar is the technical heart of the innovation. He is responsible for the fundamental understanding of the system, the electrochemical mode of action, and the continuous development of the core material.
Dipl.-Ing. Anton Ledwon – Founder & Head of Development
He translates scientific findings into robust prototypes and marketable modules – from the initial technical concept to system design and pilot production.
Science & Technology – The foundation of innovation
Dr. Frank Schneider – Chief Science Officer
Chemist, researcher, and patent expert. Frank combines scientific depth with IP strategy and regulatory understanding, creating a robust technological foundation for scaling and protecting core innovation.
Dr. Peter Commer – Research Scientist
He leads central laboratory work, analyzes materials science parameters, and systematically drives the optimization of cell architecture, electrolyte, and interfaces.
International research partnerships – Scientific reinforcement from the USA
Prof. Dr. Jochen Lauterbach – External Scientific Research Partner
Jochen Lauterbach, professor at the University of South Carolina, is an internationally renowned expert in catalysis, materials science, and AI-supported process and system optimization. As part of the collaboration, he supports HEIONTEC in modeling electrochemical processes, gaining a deeper understanding of the underlying reaction mechanisms, and in the data-driven further development and scaling of TEC-G cell technology.
Sarah Stofik – Doctoral Research Fellow
Sarah Stofik is a doctoral student in Prof. Dr. Lauterbach's research team at the University of South Carolina. She makes key contributions to experimental investigations, data analysis, and theoretical models and is an integral part of the ongoing scientific collaboration between HEIONTEC and the UofSC.
Operations, Strategy & Scaling – Structure Creates Growth
Katharina von Heydebreck – Chief Operating Officer
She is responsible for operational processes, communication, marketing, and partner coordination. Her work ensures that research results are efficiently translated into projects, structures, and concrete implementation.
Leif Mellerowicz – Chief Financial Officer
With many years of experience in finance and controlling, he is responsible for market analyses, forecasts, financial planning, and investor processes – a central building block for industrialization and international growth.
What makes us strong
HEIONTEC combines engineering expertise, scientific excellence, and international research partnerships. This combination enables us to develop a technology that goes far beyond incremental improvements and taps into a previously underutilized energy source: ambient and low-temperature heat below 90 °C.
Recent advances – from independent validations and university collaborations to pilot production – demonstrate how effectively this network is already functioning today.
