HEIONTEC Wins the 2026 Lübeck Business Innovation Award

HEIONTEC has been awarded the Innovation Prize at the 2026 Lübeck Business Startup Awards. At the awards ceremony on September 30 at the Media Docks in Lübeck, HEIONIT GmbH took first place in the Innovation category for the technology it developed under the HEIONTEC brand.

A total of 56 companies had applied for the awards. The jury particularly commended HEIONTEC for its combination of scientific research, patented technology, and great application potential.

With its thermo-electrochemical generator cell, the TEC-G, HEIONTEC is developing a novel technology that harnesses ambient heat to generate electrical energy. In the future, it is intended to power sensors and other low-power applications in particular, thereby reducing the need for battery replacements and complex wiring.

The award comes just a few weeks after another success: In September, HEIONTEC was already honored at the nationwide “Überflieger” competition 2026. This includes a one-week trip to San Francisco and Silicon Valley in the spring of 2027, during which HEIONTEC will present its technology to international companies, investors, and innovation partners.

“For us, this award is a great recognition of the journey we’ve taken over the past few years—from the scientific discovery, through the development of our technology, to the next steps toward industrial application,” says HEIONTEC founder Andreas Heine.
