HEIONTEC at the 2026 Lübeck Business Startup Award

On September 30, HEIONTEC will be presenting at the Lübeck Business Community’s Startup Award at the Media Docks in Lübeck. The focus will be on our vision of harnessing ambient heat as a new energy source for sensors and connected devices.

With our thermo-electrochemical generator cell—TEC-G for short—we are developing a novel solution for decentralized energy supply. The technology harnesses ambient heat through a regenerative electrochemical process and is intended to reliably power ultra-low-power sensors in particular in the future. Our goal is to reduce the need for battery replacements and complex wiring in industrial, infrastructure, and building services applications.

The Startup Award honors entrepreneurial courage, innovative ideas, and successful startups from the Lübeck region. The competition is sponsored by, among others, the Lübecker Nachrichten, the Lübeck Chamber of Commerce, the Lübeck Chamber of Industry and Commerce, and the Lübeck Technology Center.

For HEIONTEC, participating in this competition is a special recognition of our development to date—from the scientific discovery through the first functional cells to the preparation for industrial applications. We’re looking forward to the awards ceremony, the opportunity to exchange ideas with the other participating companies, and an evening that showcases the innovative strength of Lübeck’s startup scene.
